I really enjoyed this book, loved Gaspode and Laddie especially. I enjoyed all of the references to films and Hollywood. The books so far have felt very same-y to me, but this one seemed to have an edge to it, which was quite refreshing.
4/5
NB: Entered into the Hogwarts Reading Challenge 2012 under History of Magic, as this book was all about the magic of Holy Wood.

Patriotic nail art #2

This is a bit redundant now, but I painted my nails all England-y for the Euro's, just in time for us to get knocked out. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Film: The Lovely Bones
Why do they make films from books? They're never as good as the book, and potentially stop people from reading. Why would anyone want to read a book when they can sit back and have it wired into their brains without any effort whatsoever?
I understand things need to be rewritten and edited in order to make it manageable, but in doing so they take away the essence of the book, strip away it's soul and dump it on the editing floor. This film does exactly that.
Stop being lazy and make something new.

The Lovely Bones, Alice Sebold
This was alright, nothing amazing though. It did affect me more than it normally would have a few years ago, but it's not a book that will stay with me forever and make me smile and remember how great it was. Having said that, it's theme was a nice idea and I can see how it can comfort people, and I will probably revisit it in the future.

I'm getting the itch...
... the itch to stitch.
THIS
This little beauty has taken me 152 hours to stitch, and it's not even a fraction of the whole project. This thing is HUGE. I've not picked it up in ages, but I'm getting the urge again after so long. However, I have to finish another project first, so my Pokemon friends will have to wait.
