Eric, Terry Pratchett

I did enjoy this book a little bit more than the others because I really like Rincewind, Death and the Luggage, and I also liked some of the new characters in this story. However, I also feel like the book was a bit of a cop out regarding Rincewind getting out of the Dungeon Dimensions. Also, the ending felt rushed and a bit of a let down.

3/5

NB: Entered into the Hogwarts Reading Challenge 2012 under Care of Magical Creatures, as the book has many demons in it, and follows the classic myth of Faust. Also, I think the Luggage would fit perfectly into Hagrid's class!

A Place Called Here, Cecelia Ahern

I really enjoyed this book, it kept me interested, and keeping motivation to read is something I'm struggling with at the moment. You really feel for the families who have lost someone, as well as the people who are lost themselves, and I really wanted Sandy to help everyone feel peace. I'll definitely give some more of her books a read.

5/5

NB: Entered into the Hogwarts Reading Challenge 2012 under Charms, as the main character learns a lot about her issues over losing things, and by the end of the book she has changed and learnt to let things go. I also put it here because it's simply a lovely, charming story.

Guards! Guards! Terry Pratchett

First, an apology and an explanation. I got married a week and a half ago, so these last few months have been mega busy, and reading has slipped by the wayside. However, I did get a bit of reading done on the honeymoon, which was a nice relaxing one in the countryside, so I'm on a bit of a mission now to get back up to speed.

Now on to my review for the eighth book in the Discworld series. I've been reading these books in order and ever since the second book I've been giving them 3/5, as nothing so far is standing out to me as much as The Light Fantastic did. The books are good, I am enjoying them, and I am going to continue to read them. However, each book is becoming a struggle, not to read, but to keep motivated to read. They're all still a bit samey to me, a few giggles here and there, but lots of repetition and average stories. I still would recommend them though, especially for children and young readers, and I am slowly building up the collection for myself and my future children.

3/5

NB: Entered into the Hogwarts Reading Challenge 2012 under Transfiguration, as the book deals with a certain character using magic to bring to life and actually become a dragon, in order to have power over Ankh-Morpork.

To read, or not to read?

Ugh. I've stopped reading again. This is terrible. Yes, I've been busy with college work and planning my wedding, but it's not just that. It's these Discworld books. They started off so good, but it's just so samey now I just don't have the motivation to pick the book up. Even now, I've opted to write a blog instead of read!

I'll sign off with a picture of one of my past creations. Keeping with the Angry Birds theme, I made this eye mask a while ago. I sold it, and it got 'lost' in the post, and had to send the buyer another one. It soured my feelings about it and I haven't made another since, even though I had plans to make lots more! One day, one day.

Now, where did I put that book...?
